Morecambe Roadside Technician
Job Purpose:
To deliver a high level of customer service acting in a supporting role on behalf of the major UK clubs, in a safe and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To assist the workshop controller with the maintenance of Company vehicles and contribute towards the workshop cleanliness and health and safety as instructed by the Manager
- Carry out daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicles and on-board equipment, or such other checks as may be required by statute, or as instructed
- Observe, recognise and report on vehicle or component defects or symptoms of impending failure
- Do a daily stock check to account for parts carried on board and place purchase orders for stock replenishment when driving one of the Company’s rapid deployment trailer vehicles
- Drive the Company’s recovery vehicles specified by your Manager, giving due courtesy to other road users and comply at all times with the current statutory vehicle and road traffic regulations
- Provided a rapid response to stranded motorists
- Effect roadside repairs
- Give reassurance to vulnerable drivers, general motoring advice and customer support
- Provided workshop backup to get customers back on the road in the shortest time possible
- Assist with the loading and off loading of customer vehicles as necessary, signing for loads where applicable
- Assist with the loading and off loading of vehicles at the Company’s premises
- Complete drivers’ worksheets and other records daily as required
- Carry out such other duties as may be reasonably be associated with their position, are within their capabilities and competence and are normally carried out in the course of the Company’s business
